Who Am I ?
1: Who am I?
2: What do you do and what project are you currently working on?
I currently have my own investment firm Alexandra & James which manages the financial lives of busy people as well as Lebenthal & Company which is an institutional capital markets business. My latest endeavor however is that I have just published a novel called The Recessionistas. The book chronicles four women’s journey through the financial crisis and New York Society.
3: Where are you from and where are you going?
I’m a New York City girl forever—but willing to make day trips!
4: Who is your biggest hero?
Anyone who takes on more than they should and makes it seem effortless.
5: What book is your bible?
Gone With the Wind—“I’ll think about it tomorrow,” “There’s always Tara” and “If I have to lie cheat steal”—three of the greatest mantras!! And, Scarlett always got it done at the end (looking great too).
6: What are some things you love? And some things you hate?
I love fashion, Chardonnay, chocolate, Bellinis made with ciao bella blood orange sorbet, collecting seaglass on the beach, watching real housewives look silly, all award shows and the pre-shows. Hate: when it’s too cold in my office, airline announcements that are too long and cut into the in flight entertainment, snotty people who never remember meeting you four times and having my train stepped on at a gala.
7: What is your raison d’être?
Oh boy. TBD.
8: What is your favorite color?
I find it changes—lately it’s Lilac.
9: Who is your favorite comic book superhero?
Richie Rich—he lived the good life.
10: What is your favorite NYC hot spot?
11: What turns you on?
My sweetheart of 24 ½ years, Jay.
12: What would the last question of this questionnaire be if you were the one asking?
Is the glass half empty or half full?
Alexandra Lebenthal is the President and CEO of Lebenthal & Company and its multi family office Alexandra & James. Not only is she an important business executive with an impressive financial pedigree, but she has also found time to be a columnist and novelist. Her new novel The Recessionistas is out now.
