Point Of View
NATALIE PORTMAN’s POINT OF VIEW on Awards:
“Awards are so unnecessary, because I think we get so much out of our work just by doing it. The work is a reward in itself.”
Natalie Portman is one of the most talented actresses working in film today. She has been in the industry since the early 90s and has continually surprised us with her brilliant work. From her early Lolita-esque role as Mathilda in The Professional to her high-profile breakthrough as Queen Amidala in The Star Wars Saga, from her turn as the quirky Sam in Garden State to her shaved-head immersion into Evey in V for Vendetta, and all the way up to her Oscar-nominated breathtaking take on ballet girl-gone-wild Nina Sayers in Black Swan, Natalie Portman has given us some unforgettable characters exquisitely portrayed. Good luck on awards night Natalie! Even if you think “awards are so unnecessary,” we think your performance necessitates the Academy give you one.
