JULIAN SCHNABEL’s POINT OF VIEW on Perfectly Drawn Anatomy:

“I don’t really care about anatomy. Something perfectly drawn to me is just somebody showing you they can draw.”

Julian Schnabel is an artist and filmmaker.  Ever since his “Plate Paintings” in the 1980s, Schnabel is been in the art spotlight.  He was a friend and rival of many of the other 80s art darlings, including Jean-Michel Basquiat (on whom his first feature film took its focus).  After the biopic Basquiat, Schnabel went on to direct Academy Award nominated films such as Before Night Falls and The Diving Bell and the Butterfly.  Along with his respected work in cinema, he continues to create cutting-edge art.
