Who Am I ?
1: Who am I?
2: What do you do and what project are you currently working on?
I’m a fashion-stylist and designer, currently working on a number of editorials (V mag, Harper’s Bazaar, Status). I’m also working on a clothing line that I can’t speak too much about yet. Other than that, I’m preparing for fashion week where I’ll be forced to wear all black for its duration (sighs).
3: Where are you from and where are you going?
I’m from Waterbury, CT and I’m going to heaven.
4: Who is your biggest hero?
5: What book is your bible?
The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde. So gay and so beautifully written.
6: What are some things you love? And some things you hate?
Love: bright, metallic, textured, embellished, or printed anything, lasting friendships, genuine people, the 80′s (duh!), my Mercedes, escapism, and my muse, Tokyo Diiva.
Hate: I don’t hate many things in life at all, but I do have a strong disdain for hypocrisy and crowded subways.
7: What is your raison d’être?
I’m not sure why I exist on this planet. Still figuring that one out.
8: What is your favorite color?
Can I pick two?! Red and gold.
9: Who is your favorite comic book superhero?
Sailor Moon a.k.a Pretty Sailor Soldier.
10: What is your favorite NYC hot spot?
11: What turns you on?
Great style and a beautiful smile.
12: What would the last question of this questionnaire be if you were the one asking?
Q: Who is your favorite designer right now?
A: Bill Bolland, a great artist and one of the last true couturiers that remains loyal to his aesthetic despite current trends and fads. A true original.
Omar Alexander is a stylist and designer who treads the line between mutant-like filthy glamour (as he calls it) and haute couture. Omar got his start working alongside fashion heavy-weights like Patricia Field and Audrey Smalltz (www.groundcrew.net). These days Omar is on an editorial flare. His latest works can be found in publications like Harper’s Bazaar, Status, Vmag, Karin + Raoul and Righty, Righty, Right. When he’s not working backstage at fashion shows like Micheal Kors, Donna Karan or Vera Wang, he can be spotted parading the streets of NYC looking like a hip-David Bowie or a futuristic militant.
