Who Am I ?

MICHELLE VALE

May 2011

1: Who am I?

Michelle Vale.

2: What do you do and what project are you currently working on?

Owner and creative director of Michelle Vale Handbags. Currently working on the Spring 2012 Collection and recently co-founded the “Make it in Manhattan” Initiative. Currently producing a documentary which is part of the initiative.

3: Where are you from and where are you going?

I lived between New Jersey and New York City growing up and now reside in New York City and East Hampton. Going to… not sure, but the sky is the limit.

4: Who is your biggest hero?

My children and husband are my biggest heroes. Without them nothing would be possible. They inspire me every day to try and do great things!

5: What book is your bible?

Love and Awakening by John Wellwood. Or I’m Gonna Like Me by Jamie Lee Curtis–I read it to my babies all the time and it has a little tip of the hat to fashion!

6: What are some things you love? And some things you hate?

Love, love… food, wine, dining (my second passion), the beach, walking barefoot in the grass, sitting by a roaring fire–the simple things in life. Oh, and top quality linens. As for hate, hate breeds hate.

7: What is your raison d’être?

To be a positive role model for my family. To be kind and help others whenever possible, and to be known for doing great things.

8: What is your favorite color?

Anything neutral.

9: Who is your favorite comic book superhero?

Mystique from X-Men.

10: What is your favorite NYC hot spot?

The Standard Grill.

11: What turns you on?

My husband… always.

12: What would the last question of this questionnaire be if you were the one asking?

What are some things you can do to create a better living environment both here, NYC, and abroad?
