Who Am I ?
1: Who am I?
Willie Arthur Greene II. Doesn’t it sound like a name fit for a king?
2: What do you do and what project are you currently working on?
I’m a 16-year-old magazine editor and the CEO/Founder/Editor-in-chief of WeTheUrban.com! Right now, I’m currently working on issue #2 of the magazine and getting prepared for loads of fun things happening with my brand (not really aloud to speak about these things yet). Oh! I’m also currently Tumblr’s top fashion editor right now, so that’s been keeping me busy as well.
3: Where are you from and where are you going?
I lived in DC for 11 years, and then I moved to Raleigh, NC. I graduate high school next year, so I’m hoping to go to college in New York (majoring in journalism of course). I’d like to be the next black male Anna Wintour.
4: Who is your biggest hero?
So cliche, but Oprah. Do I even have to explain?
5: What book is your bible?
I recently read Perks of Being a Wallflower, and it hit me in a way no other book has. Mainly because I could relate to the main character so much. I think they’re actually coming out with the movie version starring Emma Watson this year? Although I wouldn’t call that my ‘bible’, I’m still young though… I have time to find it. I love to read, but I’m just really picky.
6: What are some things you love? And some things you hate?
I love selfless people, fashion, Europe, food, and people with abnormally large eyes. Things I hate? There are a lot of things I don’t like and can’t stand, but the only thing I can think of that I truly “hate” is when people sneeze around me. I seriously have a problem! Every time someone sneezes within like 5-10 feet of me, I just imagine this huge mass of snot and spit flying into the air I’m breathing and I just can’t take it. If it’s a double or triple sneeze… I’m usually covering my nose or walking the other direction.
7: What is your raison d’être?
I honestly believe my raison d’être is to entertain. Aside from the job I created for myself, I act, sing, and dance. And not to toot my own horn, but I do it quite well! Maybe someday you’ll see my name in lights?
8: What is your favorite color?
Black. It goes with everything, it will never be out of style, and it’s just a beautiful color.
9: Who is your favorite comic book superhero?
Superman! Anything with abs, I love. I also love the whole double-lifestyle superheroes get to have! I used to have one! Then I ended up in the ER and suspended from school for 5 days, so it didn’t last too long. We won’t get into that…
10: What is your favorite NYC hot spot?
I have yet to visit! I’m pretty sure in a year or two I’ll have some clubs and cafes to add to this empty list though.
11: What turns you on?
Nice teeth, good hygiene, intelligence, style, nice thighs, and anyone who’s not afraid to make himself look completely stupid in front of me and not care.
12: What would the last question of this questionnaire be if you were the one asking?
Q: Where do you see yourself five years from now?
A: I would say: I see myself living in a nice New York penthouse and running shit like I’m Kelly Cutrone.
Willie Green II describes himeslf as a Gaga-obsessed technology-crazed teenager by day and a magazine editor/editor-in-chief of a modern culture blog by night. He operates one of the largest growing blogs on Tumblr, and the first issue of WeTheUrban magazine dropped March 18th. WeTheUrban is an online publication dedicated to everything related to culture, including: fashion, music, design, art, and the like. The difference between his magazine and similar websites is that he does not post every new thing that’s out, but he only posts what he is personally inspired by. He believes this helps him relate on a deeper level with the 40 some-odd thousand people that follow him.
