Who Am I ?
1: Who am I?
2: What do you do and what project are you currently working on?
I’m an artist, currently getting my degree in photography. Before I start on any projects, I’m taking the time to get inspired by experiencing New York City to its fullest. The other day, I went to the Filipino Parade with a friend of mine. It was so great to see so much culture, so much vibrancy. It had my creative juices flowing; sometimes you just gotta take the time out to fuel the mind and soul!
3: Where are you from and where are you going?
I’m from Queens, New York. I didn’t really start experiencing New York until I was about nineteen. It’s crazy but some people don’t even leave their boroughs. I eventually would love to travel the world, just me and my camera.
4: Who is your biggest hero?
I would really have to say my parents. Coming from Haiti, my parents both worked in housekeeping but they provided to the fullest. My siblings and I had everything we ever needed. Though they didn’t have much, they built a foundation, and I try to work as hard as they did!
5: What book is your bible?
I started reading True Blood [series by Charlaine Harris] not to long ago, and I must say, it’s a killer. The sex, the passion: what more can a person ask for?
6: What are some things you love? And some things you hate?
I love music; Grace Jones has to be one of my favorite artist. What she did with music, fashion, imagery, was amazing. She didn’t fall into trends; she tried to bring something unique.
Dance is something else I love. There is so much that can be expressed with a simple
motion. The Les Twins from Paris have to be my favorite dancers right now there movements
are just so comedic, passionate, and beautiful. Dance and music both equally inspire me to express my creativity.
Well, I’m not one to hate, but I do have a problem with people not willing to try something new–people who are just stuck in one mind set, unwilling to try or accept.
7: What is your raison d’être?
Well, I’ve always known that I wanted to be an artist. I’ve experienced so much love and pain. I feel my calling is to express and to create some sort of reason for living.
8: What is your favorite color?
At the moment, I would have to say red. I’m an Aries; fire/passion is part of my soul.
9: Who is your favorite comic book superhero?
Storm is my favorite superhero. That body, that hair–she’s just so fierce! She was such a strong and empowering individual and I loved how she could control the elements.
10: What is your favorite NYC hot spot?
I always love my nights at Greenhouse, I can just go there, to live and let go.
11: What turns you on?
Brawns and brains!
12: What would the last question of this questionnaire be if you were the one asking?
Q: If you could photograph someone from the past, who would it be?
A: It would have to be Marilyn Monroe; she was the epitome of glamour. There was something so captivating and mysterious about her. I would I have loved to play with her on set. She would’ve given me so much.
