Who Am I ?
1: Who am I?
I am Daniel Haim. Also known as DG, or Knox.
2: What do you do and what project are you currently working on?
My business card reads that I’m just a professional web surfer, it’s what I do best and I fully embrace it. I am the President of Bloginity, which is where I’m currently working and hope I can do this for the rest of my life.
3: Where are you from and where are you going?
I was born and raised in Israel. I moved to New York on my own when I was just around 16, but I had a lot of support from my amazing family. I took my grandfather’s advice to “Follow what you love and you will succeed” to heart, and so I struggled to build a website with the little money that I had. I had learned some coding, and I took those skills and used them to design and transform bloginity.com into a major leading website. Today I am still in charge of all aspects of the business, just as much as I was when I first started, from the design and development to the content itself. I did what I love and success came with it. I am hoping that sometime in my late 20s, I will be able to afford to bring my close family on a very long vacation somewhere around the world. I’ve got my eye on Australia and I also want to discover China, which is where my mother’s family is from.
4: Who is your biggest hero?
I’d have to say it’s my grandmother, Raya. I love her dearly and she gives me the best advice–she always reminds me what life is all about.
5: What book is your bible?
I honestly never read a single book in my entire life, so I can’t really answer that. But I’d have to admit that SEOmoz “The Professional Guide to Linkbuilding” is what really got me engaged with the web.
6: What are some things you love? And some things you hate?
I love to write complaint letters to companies and hate when they don’t give me free stuff.
7: What is your raison d’être?
Change the world.
8: What is your favorite color?
The green color on the uniforms of the IDF.
9: Who is your favorite comic book superhero?
10: What is your favorite NYC hot spot?
They change too quickly. There are some interesting venues in New York City. I’d have to say The Jane Hotel, 632 on Hudson which I discovered through my friends at Krug Champagne., JIMMY. Yeah that’s pretty much it. Oh yeah, and the W in Union Square. I find myself there sometimes sleeping on that comfortable sofa during the day.
11: What turns you on?
Lara Stone in a Gucci belt.
12: What would the last question of this questionnaire be if you were the one asking?
It would be “What is your favorite quote?”
