Who Am I ?
1: Who am I?
I’m a singer, songwriter, actress, and VFX artist.
2: What do you do and what project are you currently working on?
We’re currently working on my second single, as well as the album, while preparing for the upcoming shows.
Filming for my new movie, Old 37, starts in September; I’m very excited about that. I have some upcoming modeling projects, and I’m also currently working on a couple songs for motion picture soundtracks.
3: Where are you from and where are you going?
I was born and raised in Austria, but I live in NYC now. I love it!
4: Who is your biggest hero?
My mom! She raised me all by herself and I’m so grateful that she supported my music and entertainment career. She has an amazing work ethic, a wonderfully creative mind, and the kindest soul I’ve ever found in a human being, with such a generous heart! I love her so much!
5: What book is your bible?
My bible is The Bible. I really did enjoy reading it, but one of my favorite books when I was a child was Sophie’s World; it’s funny, but I find myself reading it again and again and again. I love to read, just the occupation itself guides me.
6: What are some things you love? And some things you hate?
I love music and art! I love my family, I love museums (I spend almost all my free time at the MET in New York), I love a good challenge, I hate unprofesionalism.
7: What is your raison d’être?
To be happy, healthy, and content.
8: What is your favorite color?
Purple, baby blue and navy blue.
9: Who is your favorite comic book superhero?
10: What is your favorite NYC hot spot?
The MET and its rooftop.
11: What turns you on?
A smile. A nice, genuine smile.
12: What would the last question of this questionnaire be if you were the one asking?
What’s your sign? That’s usually the first question I ask.
Dalal is a multi-talented international rising star. Dalal’s burgeoning career as a singer, actress, and model began in Austria, where she was born into a long line of talented artists, composers, and musicians. Not only is Dalal’s mother an actress and painter, and her grandmother a musician, but Dalal is a direct descendant of the lyricist for world-renowned composer, Franz Schubert. A certified musical prodigy and performing artist, she learned to play both the violin and piano by age 4, composed her own scores at age 5, and at age 8 had already played with several acclaimed orchestras in Europe.
In 2008, Dalal attended the SAE College for film and graduated top of her class, while simultaneously directing two choirs during her studies. She has since appeared in various television shows, commercials, and feature films in Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Greece, and South Korea.
Equally passionate about working behind the camera, Dalal has worked as a visual effects artist for Mechnology on such hit series as 90210 and Disney’s Sonny with a Chance.
Most recently, Dalal’s international appeal has landed her a starring role in the upcoming feature film, Into the Darkness, with co-stars Mischa Barton and Kiowa Gordon.
She will also be featured in the upcoming thriller, Old 37.
In addition, Dalal has been recording tracks for various feature films, was invited to be a special guest soloist for the Vienna International Gospel Choir, and recorded a Christmas CD with the Vienna University Orchestra.
Fluent in English and German, Dalal currently resides in New York City.
Dalal is very involved with a number of philanthropic pursuits. She performed her original song “Breathe Again,” written with composer Jeff Franzel, at “Nature’s Night” hosted by Society’s Choice and the National Wildlife Federation, and recently posed for the NoH8 campaign.
Dalal performed at the Sundance Film Festival 2011, and was invited to attend various 2011 Fashion Week events such as Porter Grey, Joy Cioci, Zang Toi, and Timo Weiland, for whom she also modeled one of his designs.
Her debut single “Taste the Night” was released on February 22, 2011, with much anticipation, and the official music video for “Taste the Night” premiered through AOL Music on May 26th. Her video was the most watched video on youtube for two days and has gained over one million views in two days.
