Who Am I ?

August 2011

1: Who am I?

I am a writer, editor, sex educator, activist, college lecturer, and feminist pornographer. I’m a dessert connoisseur, a rescuer of dogs, an ass whisperer, and an organization fetishist.

2: What do you do and what project are you currently working on?

I teach people sex and relationship skills, encourage them to embrace their authentic desires, and fight for the rights of sexual minorities. I’m working on three new books, a documentary, a sex education film, and a U.S. tour for my two books that come out in October: The Secrets of G-Spot Orgasms and Female Ejaculation and Take Me There: Trans and Genderqueer Erotica.

3: Where are you from and where are you going?

I’m from Long Island and I’m going where the sun don’t shine.

4: Who is your biggest hero?

My Boston Terrier, Jordan.

5: What book is your bible?

The Places That Scare You by Pema Chodron.

6: What are some things you love? And some things you hate?

I love fresh-squeezed lemonade, artisan chocolate, snorkeling, musicals, butt plugs, art that speaks to me, and honesty. I hate smoking, right-wing nut jobs, abstinence-only sex education, racist porn titles, and ambivalence.

7: What is your raison d’être?

To empower people to embrace their sexuality, to love my chosen family fiercely, and to live with intention and compassion.

8: What is your favorite color?

9: Who is your favorite comic book superhero?

Wonder Woman.

10: What is your favorite NYC hot spot?

The Chocolate Room in Park Slope. Everything they make is divine. I’d live there if I could.

11: What turns you on?

People with complicated genders.

12: What would the last question of this questionnaire be if you were the one asking?

What’s your favorite dessert?
