Who Am I ?
1: Who am I?
I’m a daughter, sister, granddaughter, and friend. I’m enthusiastic about life, travel, fashion, art and my career. Those closest to me know I have an insatiable appetite for laughter and fun. I’m constantly changing, hopefully always improving, and actively in pursuit of my own happiness.
2: What do you do and what project are you currently working on?
I’m a fashion illustrator and currently working on an editorial illustration commission for one of my favorite Canadian fashion publications.
3: Where are you from and where are you going?
I’m from Toronto, Ontario, currently living in New York City. I’m following my heart wherever it leads me; maybe London, Paris. I won’t stop until I reach the stars.
4: Who is your biggest hero?
My biggest hero, and I mean this in the least arrogant way possible, is probably myself. I’ve just learned that I can only really rely on me. At the end of the day, the greatest relationship you will ever have is the one you have with yourself.
5: What book is your bible?
My favorite book has to be Fashion Illustrator by Bethan Morris. It really is the book that started it all. After I graduated from my first degree in commerce I didn’t have a clue where I belonged in my career between art and fashion. You know the expression when the student is ready, the teacher finds you? Well, this book definitely found me and made me realize what I was destined to be.
6: What are some things you love? And some things you hate?
Love: painting with bright colored washes, traveling to far away places, Henri Bendel and their Spring Blossom Agave fragrance, exotic flavored macaroons, moments of pure and simple indulgence.
Hate: feeling like I’m becoming complacent.
7: What is your raison d’être?
To be the best version of myself, to live happily, to love wholeheartedly, to grow, to paint, to travel, to share, and paint some more.
8: What is your favorite color?
My favorite color right now is blood orange. I want to wear it on my fingers and toes. A few seasons ago it was the hottest lipstick to wear and I caught Chloe Sevigny sporting it at Lit Lounge in the lower east side. She looked incredible.
9: Who is your favorite comic book superhero?
Honestly, I would be lying if I said I had one. I’m definitely not the comic book type at all.
10: What is your favorite NYC hot spot?
Hot spots are so fleeting in this city; here today, gone tomorrow. The place I enjoy the absolute most is the boardwalk by the Hudson River. I live in the West Village, stones throw from the water. I can’t describe just how happy it makes me to sit there, read, listen to music, and watch the waves sparkle.
11: What turns you on?
12: What would the last question of this questionnaire be if you were the one asking?
Why is New York the hardest and yet most desirable city to live in? Frankly, I wish I knew the answer.
