Animal Instinct - Fashion Trends

Welcome to the (Concrete) Jungle

September 2011

This isn’t the first fashion season where animal skin prints have graced the runways, however this season the volume of animal prints poses the question: When will they stop trending? Just like the LBD is a closet must have, so is a dress or accessory with a flare of animal print. For the upcoming fall season there is anything but a shortage of wild prints, turning the runways and the streets of NYC into the wild kingdom. Head to toe, iPad cases to handbags, exotic prints are being embraced. For this season though, the animal prints are the base for looks, and designers aren’t shy about embellishing them further with either accented metals, or adding a pop of color. It’s undeniable that animal prints add that extra something to an outfit. Let’s just say it’s safe to assume exotic prints won’t be going extinct anytime soon.
