Who Am I ?

November 2011

1: Who am I?

I am a Streetwear designer and Makeup Artist. I am a Tom Boy that likes to wear red lipstick. My religion is unicornism.

2: What do you do and what project are you currently working on?

I  own a streetwear brand called KTAG NYC with my partner Anna Gilbert, aka AG. We are currently working on our next collection which includes a lot of cut and sew and also snowboard and skateboard designs; it’s pretty exciting! We are working our arses off right now. It’s a hustle but I love it so!

3: Where are you from and where are you going?

Originally from England, but I’ve been in New York  for six years now. I’m going in the right direction.

4: Who is your biggest hero?

My Grannie. R.I.P.–such an amazing lady

5: What book is your bible?

There are a few books I could read again and again. One is called The Power of Nowjust makes you think. Another book that really inspires me is Richard Branson’s autobiography. And a book called The 4-Hour Work Week by Timothy Ferriss; everyone should read that !

6: What are some things you love?  And some things you hate?

I love my family, freedom, living alone, shiny things, art, New York, huge Brooklyn loft apartments, music, the truth. I love love. I hate liars, bullies, cheaters, two-faced people, processed food, people who say they are going to do something and never do it. I could go on for days. It’s funny you ask this question, because one of our best selling t-shirts is called ‘Love/Hate’ due to all the love/hate relationships in life.

7: What is your raison d’être?

Reason? Love, creativity, freedom, and peace.

8: What is your favorite color?

9: Who is your favorite comic book superhero?

James Lawrence, aka Batman!

10: What is your favorite NYC hot spot?

Don’t have a favorite. If my girl DJ Brooklyn Dawn or DJ Sky Nellor is spinning, I will be there. Otherwise, I don’t care; I got work to do!

11: What turns you on?

Confidence, but not ego. Honesty and determination. A weird hair cut and tattoos are also turn-ons too.

12: What would the last question of this questionnaire be if you were the one asking?

Where would you like to be in the next ten years? Hopefully with a couple of kids in a nice big farmhouse with a cow, a horse, and a few chickens, and healthy, and enjoying life!

The chic, urban clothing line is the creation of owners KT Karvis (KT) and Anna Gilbert (AG).
