Who Am I ?

November 2011

1: Who am I?

My name is Orlando Doleo and I am a Jersey native with a NYC state of mind. I love art, food, culture, traveling, music, and–most of all–fashion.

2: What do you do and what projects are you currently working on?

I am Head of Public Relations for LE CITY KITTY, a full-time student at Parsons, and an ELLE magazine intern. Apart from helping run Le City Kitty, my main focus is completing my master’s degree in public relations. As a strong believer in expression through style, I am currently working on building a styling portfolio to expand my knowledge on individual style. My goal is to learn about every aspect of the fashion industry.

3: Where are you from and where are you going?

Most people don’t believe me when I say this, but I was born and raised in Newark, New Jersey. I am very proud to say that my situation has completely changed, but never embarrassed of where I came from. I will be flying to Paris in January for about a month for a couple of styling jobs, but I will definitely be back to the best city in the world (NYC) for Fashion Week. After that I am off to Milan.

4: Who is your biggest hero?

No doubt about it, my biggest hero would have to be my beautiful, and very chic, if I might add, mother. She not only gave me life, but also supported me in very single thing that I wanted to do. The women taught me to be strong and to never give up on my dreams. She is the reason why I am where I am today.

5: What book is your bible?

Norman Parkinson: A Very British Glamour and Anam Cara: A Book of Celtic Wisdom.

6: What are some things you love? And some things you hate?

A lover of food, culture, music, art, animals, sports, and traveling. Very much dislike diets, spiders, the dark, malls, and social climbers.

7: What is your raison d’être?

If I told you, I would have to kill you.

8: What is your favorite color?

Pink. Just kidding, black all the way.

9: Who is your favorite comic book hero?

10: What is your favorite NYC hot spot?

I hate to limit myself to one place, but one of my favorites would have to be The Standard. They have amazing food, and its great place to go on a Wednesday night for some coffee. If your in that party mood, they have the Boom Boom room for those fancy nights, and when you want to get dirty, Le Bein is right around the corner.

11: What turns you on?

Style, tattoos, and badassess.

12: What would the last question of this interview be if you were the one asking?

What inspires your life style?

Orlando Doleo is Head of Public Relations for LE CITY KITTY, a full-time student at Parsons, and an ELLE magazine intern.
