You Know Me !

December 2011

1: How do we know you?

I have been writing and commenting about fashion, design, decor, and events in New York for the last ten years. I wrote Ultimate Style: The Best of the Best Dressed List, and I was a contributor on E!’s 101 Most Sensational Crimes of Fashion.

2: What is your latest project?

I write Bettina’s Take, a blog about high profile events. I’m also a Special Projects Editor at Elle Decor, where I write the RSVP column.

3: Where are you living?

In New York.

4: What don’t we know about you?

I am passionate about the ocean. The planet depends on the health of our oceans, which is rapidly deteriorating.

5: What is your favorite travel destination?

There are so many! I really enjoy traveling. France–I lived there for seven years. Egypt, Italy, Turkey, Spain, Argentina, St. Bart’s, St. Petersburg, I could go on and on.

6: What inspires you?

Travel. Contemporary art. Music. Politics.

7: If not yourself, who would you be?

Justin Timberlake. Mila Kunis. Two extremely talented, funny people who don’t take themselves seriously. Can you imagine what it would be like to walk around with that kind of talent every day?

8: What book is your bible?

I wouldn’t say I have a “bible”, but I do love to read. My all time favorite book remains Gabriel Garcia Marquez’s Love In The Time Of Cholera. I’m a big fan of memoirs, including Patti Smiths’ Just Kids, Keith Richards’s Life, and J.R. Moehringer’s The Tender Bar.

9: What is your favorite word?

That’s a tough one for a writer to answer! I love words in general!

10: Who is your biggest hero?

Raymond Kelly, Michael Bloomberg. They’ve kept the city safe and thwarted countless terrorist attacks in the past ten years.

11: How would you define success?

Feeling comfortable in one’s own skin. Loving the journey as much as the destination. Finishing this questionnaire and not sounding like an idiot.

12: What would the last question of this questionnaire be if you were the one asking?

If a genie gave you three wishes, what would they be?
