Who Am I ?
1: Who am I?
I’m an artist, lover, friend, and daughter. I am constantly looking for what will inspire me next. I work hard for what I want and continue to have the dream, ’cause nothing that is worthwhile comes easy.
2: What do you do and what project are you currently working on?
I am currently working on my latest exhibition, “It’s All Black and White.” I came up with the idea for my latest collection after a mural I painted in November of 2010 at The Bowery Poetry Club. I had just returned from living in Miami Beach for ten months, and I was inspired to share my growth as a woman and an artist. For the first time as a painter, all I asked for was black paint. I put my heart and soul on that 22ft x 16ft wall. After thirteen hours of non-stop painting, I remember stepping back looking at the mural and saying to myself, “This is it! This is where I am right now.” The collection covers love, the evolution of the spirit, growth, and change.
3: Where are you from and where are you going?
I was born and raised in New York. This city inspires me greatly. Being exposed to museums at such a young age showed me what the world looked like through the eyes of brilliant painters. Walking home as a kid, I would stare at amazement at the graffati walls which allowed me to see the beauty in the concrete jungle.
4: Who is your biggest hero?
My biggest hero would have to be my mom. She encouraged me from a young age to express myself creatively. She is still to this day my number one fan and supporter.
5: What book is your bible?
My favorite book would have to be The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz. This book was pretty much my first gateway to personal and spiritual freedom.
6: What are some things you love?
I love that I’m learning to ride my bike at twenty seven. I love my boyfriend. I love sweets. I love having a good laugh with friends. I don’t have time to hate anything, because there’s just to much to love and appreciate.
7: What is your raison d’être?
To keep the inspiration alive.
8: What is your favorite color?
9: Who is your favorite comic book superhero?
10: What is your favorite NYC hot spot?
There’s this dark, dark, dingy club called Sullivan Room. And it’s not so much the club itself, but the amazing house music they play. If your interested in experiencing it for yourself I recommend Sunday nights party, FUNKBOX. It’s one of New York’s best rated parties. You will dance the night away.
11: What turns you on?
Love letters (inside joke between my boyfriend and I).
12: What would the last question of this questionnaire be if you were theone asking?
What do you dream about?
