February 2012

1: Who am I?

I am a filmmaker. I find humor in all things in life; nothing’s safe.

I’m a writer and director in the film industry. I just finished post-production on my feature-length film called, Betty I Am. Up to this point my stories have been primarily focused on female lead characters.

Born in Los Angeles, and willing to go anywhere in the world with an opportunity to tell a great story.

4: Who is your biggest hero?

It changes every other day. So many come and go.

5: What book is your bible?

News from the many outlets that the Internet provides. Looking for problems and trends that will help me shape my next script.

6: What are some things you love? And some things you hate?

I love classic cinema, coffee, real food (all food in general), Kodak film, laughing, shoes, conversations, open minds, love, sweat, girls in skinny pants.

I hate bad films, dishonesty, medication, hangovers, weird situations, pain, and no chemistry.

Making people laugh.

8: What is your favorite color?

Black or white.

9: Who is your favorite comic book superhero?

Batman, the closes to a normal human being.

10: What is your favorite NYC hot spot?

11: What turns you on?

12: What would the last question of this questionnaire be if you were the one asking?

Question: What is the first thing that comes to mind before starting a script?

Answer: Have some respect for your audience.

With a very unique, and at times disturbing, imagination, Jose has always had plenty to write about. His writing for the stage earned him a trip to Utah to compete in the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival, while at Rio Hondo Community College. His abilities then propelled him into a deeper focus from writing for the stage to writing for the screen. Jose has a couple of completed scripts, and several more in the making. After receiving his Bachelor’s Degree in Film & Electronic Arts, from the University of California State Long Beach, Jose had a drive to make his first feature film as soon as possible. Making unbelievable sacrifices, and life-alternating financial decisions, he managed to gather the necessary funds to make his vision come true. Jose has worked on several other projects with friends, so he had no problem gathering a great crew to assist in making “Betty I Am.” With this great accomplishment under his belt, Jose’s passion for film writing and directing have only been strengthened. This writing machine is now well lubed, and really beginning to take-off.
