Who Am I ?
1: Who am I?
I am a musician, filmmaker, and eager learner.
2: What do you do and what project are you currently working on?
I am one half of the band Fake Furs. I also write film music, and have been writing scores for a few short films of all kinds. I have been crafting films of my own as well, and am currently in the process of writing screenplays, both short and feature-length. I also am slowly building a project related to transitional spaces, with a focus on a corridor.
3: Where are you from and where are you going?
On an earthly geographical perspective, I was born in Paris, France. When I was a kid, I told people I came from Jupiter. I’d like to think that I am going to every place there is to be at.
4: Who is your biggest hero?
I would say my friends, for putting up with my insanity while dealing with their own.
5: What book is your bible?
A book that I always go back to is Post Office by Charles Bukowski. I’ve also ardently read The Last Night of the Earth Poems. I am an avid reader of Bret Easton Ellis’ work as well. In French literature, Bel-Ami by Guy de Maupassant is hands-down my favorite novel.
Otherwise, I read Georges Dandelot’s books, which relate to score-reading. Finally, I am reading the Set Lighting Technician’s Handbook by Harry C. Box.
6: What are some things you love? And some things you hate?
I love concepts, such as (in complete disorder) honesty, imagination, minimalism, pop culture, mass murder, laughter, voices, dark/inappropriate humor, existentialism, white/pink noise, narrow depth of field, simplicity, triangle waves, distorted silence, writing symphonies, film noir, wine, compressors, toy instruments and, well…disorder.
I dislike predictability, people who say they’re bored, singular hangovers, arrogance (even though I probably am), disrespect, and pointless arguments.
7: What is your raison d’être?
Thinking, creating, achieving, repeat.
8: What is your favorite color?
The color of time and charcoal gray.
9: Who is your favorite comic book superhero?
10: What is your favorite NYC hot spot?
Any vintage instruments shops; the kind that would have USSR-era synthesizers and obscure guitars.
11: What turns you on?
Intelligence and voices.
12: What would the last question of this questionnaire be if you were the one asking?
Que se passe-t-il?
