Who Am I ?

Fall 2012

1: Who am I?

Max, Max La Manna.

2: What do you do and what project are you currently working on?

I’m a model with Click; but more importantly, I am an aspiring actor who is taking every class I can in singing, dancing, and acting. I am also an assistant to a Broadway producer. Currently, I am assisting wherever I can on the new Broadway show Dead Accounts starring Katie Holmes and Norbet Leo Butz. Jack O’Brien is directing the play and Theresa Rebeck is the playwright. It’s thrilling to be in the service of people who are so talented in the field I want to be my life’s work.

3: Where are you from and where are you going?

I am from Waterbury, Connecticut. Where I am going is some place beautiful and when I get there I’ll let you know (I’ll send you a postcard).

4: Who is your biggest hero?

My father. He lost his father at the age of five, missed two years of high school because of a sports injury, and was in a wheelchair for two years, yet he overcame every obstacle to pursue his dreams.

5: What book is your bible?

The Catcher in the Rye.

6: What are some things you love? And some things you hate?

I love cooking, hiking, laughing, and the smell of fresh air. I hate sirens and bad food.

7: What is your raison d’être?

The pursuit of happiness. Live every day to the fullest.

8: What is your favorite color?

Royal Blue.

9: Who is your favorite comic book superhero?

To be honest, I never read comic books growing up, although I like Superman, Spiderman, and Batman. My life is ordered around real heroes, however, not the fantasy ones.

10: What is your favorite NYC hotspot?

Talk about hot, The Russian & Turkish Baths in the East Village, or Blue Ribbon for sushi.

11: What turns you on?

12: What would the last question of this questionnaire be if you were the one asking?

What would you like to hear St. Peter say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates?

Max La Manna has a remarkable story. This 23 year-old go-getter and fitness enthusiast was taught sign language at the age of four because he was not able to enunciate properly. Growing up in an Italian household, his parents taught Max how to cook and show respect towards others and have fun with life. Max completed his first triathlon at the age of 12, raced in numerous half marathons, and also raced to the top of Mount Washington in New Hampshire before he turned 18. Everything Max does, he gives it his all: no doubt about it! In an interview in 2010, Max was told he had “it” (star power) and a “million dollar smile” that lights up the room. Max loves his family and he refers to his friends as family too. Max is making it happen and we will just have to wait and see where he pops up next.
