Top Ten

A Look at the Top Films of 2012

By Shea Formaneck

Winter 2012-2013

Right, so let’s just get the formalities of this list out of the way first. I haven’t yet seen all the films I need to see (you know, the “good” ones that will probably be on everyone else’s Top Ten lists–I’m looking at you Lincoln). Also, this is difficult for me to write, as I have an inherent aversion to making lists. I don’t know what it is that resides deep in my psyche that hates doing it, but it’s there. Ask me my favorite book, movie, fill-in-the-blank, and I will graciously and surreptitiously turn that conversation around–post haste. I don’t know why, but I hate it. That being said, however, I’m going to give it a shot for this year–and so, without further ado: my top ten films of 2012 that I can remember watching (not that you should care what some random dipshit has to say anyway).

1. The Master

2. Argo

3. Moonrise Kingdom

4. Django Unchained

5. Searching for Sugarman

6. The Cabin in the Woods

7. The Dark Knight Rises

8. Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter

9. Dredd (tie)

9. Looper (tie)

10. Magic Mike
