Who Am I ?

Winter 2013-2014

1. Who am I?

I’m a singer/songwriter born and raised in NY. I write all of my own music and play both piano and guitar. I would describe my music as a little bit of everything. In writing my music, I tend to pull influences from a bunch of different genres, such as pop, country, rock, soul, and the blues, creating my own unique sound in the process.

2. What do you do and what project are you currently working on?

I use songwriting as a tool to inspire others. Through my music, I hope to inspire others through the stories I tell. Currently, I am working on my second album. This second album will definitely show my growth as an artist over the past couple of years, as well as contain songs with deeper meanings. It will also show diversity in my songwriting, such as a mixture of different styles and genres.

3. Where are you from and where are you going?

I’m from Westchester County in NY, and I hope to be traveling the world sharing my music within the next year or so.

4. Who is your biggest hero?

Dan Eldon is my hero. He was the youngest photojournalist for Reuters News Agency over in Somalia during the early 1990s. His photos were some of the first photos to expose Somalia’s famine and conflict to the world. Unfortunately, however, he was killed in 1993 while covering Somalia’s unrest. Dan was an artist, activist, and adventurer. Although he died at the early age of twenty-two, he lived a vibrant life full of travel and adventure. Dan was a creative and spontaneous individual. He brought joy to all those he encountered and always put others first. His legacy lives on through Creative Visions Foundation, which “[helps] others like Dan use media and the arts to create meaningful change in the world around them.”

5. What book is your bible?

My favorite book is Dan Eldon: Safari As A Way Of Life by Jennifer New. Again, the story of Dan Eldon is truly remarkable and I believe he is an individual whom we all can look up to.

6. What are some things you love? And some things you hate?

I love music, animals, Free People, jewelry, the beach, and Harrods. I dislike spiders, airplanes, the dark, and horror movies.

7. What is your raison d’ Être?

I would say songwriting is my raison d’être as I love to tell stories and hope to inspire others in the process.

8. What is your favorite color?

9. What is your favorite comic super hero?

To tell you the truth, I actually don’t have one. I was more of a Disney Princess girl growing up.

10. What is your favorite NYC spot?

I love the restaurant Serendipity III on the Upper East Side.

11. What turns you on?

Boys who sing and play guitar are so attractive.

12. What would the last question of this questionnaire be if you were the one asking?

I would ask: If you were offered a free trip to go anywhere in the world, where would you go? I would go to Paris because I was born on July 14th, the same date as Bastille Day. I’ve never been, so it would definitely be fun to go to Paris on my birthday and see all of the fireworks during Bastille Day.
