Who Am I ?

CHRISTINA CALAUTTI

Spring 2014

1. Who am I?

Hi! I’m Christina Calautti, twenty-one and born and raised in New Jersey. Currently studying Fashion Merchandising & Marketing at The Art Institute of New York City, working part-time at a luxury consignment boutique, and blogging my life in photos on Instagram and Tumblr!

2. What do you do and what project are you currently working on?

Right now my main focus is school since I’m graduating in the Spring, but I’m in the works of creating my own fashion brand and company. Since I’ve lived and spent my time in New York City for the past two years I’ve been inspired by the idea of mixing city life and suburban life. Since it’s still in the works, that’s the only secret I’ll let out as of now! I’ve also been working on my personal site with my style looks and advice, as it gets warmer out I’ll be updating that more often.

3. Where are you from and where are you going?

I’m from a little town in Northern New Jersey called Ramsey, a town where you know everyone and everything going on. Since I grew up in an extreme suburban area, the city life has always intrigued me. I’ll be staying in New York / New Jersey throughout my education and I hope to one day own a cozy and cute place in California.

4. Who is your biggest hero?

Definitely Sophia Amoruso. She started from an Ebay account selling vintage pieces to a massive empire in the fashion e-commerce scene known worldwide. Her story inspires me to work hard, play hard, all while keeping true to myself.

5. What book is your bible?

I wish I read more to be able to tell you my favorite of all time, but I’m really looking forward to reading GIRLBOSS by Sophia Amoruso. Love hearing entrepreneurs talk about their experience and how they got to where they are today.

6. What are some things you love? And some things you hate?

Of course I love the people I surround myself with that support me and inspire me. I also love going to yoga after a long day, shopping (a little too much), getting inspiration from other fashion bloggers. I also love mixing high and low fashion. An H&M dress and Alexander Wang shoes can never go wrong. What do I dislike? I dislike hearing the news on television because it’s mostly negative talk, I also don’t like many vegetables, but with this juicing routine I’m on I’m trying to change that! Yes, I’m super food picky.

7. What is your raison dӐtre?

To be able to inspire others. Thank goodness for social media, because I love showing my creativity and who I am through my sites. Getting feedback and others looking up to you is the best feeling.

8. What is your favorite color?

I’m one of those people that literally love every single color. My favorite color to wear is pale pink. It’s such a delicate color that is easy to wear and goes with almost everything, all year round.

9. Who is your favorite comic book superhero?

BATMAN!! (I heard the theme song as I typed that)

10. What is your favorite NYC hot spot?

Oh man, too many to list! I love the Dream Downtown. The rooftop has amazing views and downstairs at Electric room is the perfect place to put your dancing shoes on and hear some awesome tunes at night.

11. What turns you on?

When a person’s outfit can speak for themselves. I also love when you can immediately figure out what a person is like from looking at their blog. I love how Instagram photos and Tumblr photos can tell someone’s story.

12. What would the last question of this questionnaire be if you were the one asking?

I would love to give away some of my favorite shopping spots in New York City and Brooklyn. Definitely check out Mini Mini Market in Brooklyn and Pixie Market in the Lower East Side. I guarantee you’ll leave with something from each place!
