You Know Me !

Spring 2014

1. How do we know you?

I’ve known Patrick for so long! I think we first met in the Hamptons. Every event I attended, Patrick was there with his camera. We became instant friends, because he’s just such a friendly, upbeat person! He started taking photos of me almost 20 years go. Wow!

The public knows me through my catering company, Flavors, my cookbook, Pamela Morgan’s Flavors, events that I’ve planned in the city, and events I’ve gone to in the city.

2. What is your latest project?

I recently rebranded my company: Flirting with Flavors. I do intimate private and corporate dinner parties from a very unique venue in NYC. I’ve hosted everything from book launches to birthday parties, and we even create the most fun private cooking parties. I’m also working on a new cookbook!

3. Where are you living?

I live in the Upper East Side of NYC as well as Bridgehampton during the summers.
We also have a timeshare in St. Barts, and I love to go several times a year.

4. What don”t we know about you?

You probably don’t know that I’m an ex-Broadway gypsy. I love to sing–it’s what brought me to NYC! I’m working on a way to combine my two passions—food and singing. I even sing every now and then on my cooking videos.

5. What is your favorite travel destination?

Paris is definitely one of my favorite walking and eating cities. But there are so many!
I love to travel and to be inspired by new cultures and cuisines.

6. What inspires you?

Turning other people on to cooking and entertaining. I love it! And cooking for others inspires me too!

7. If not yourself, who would you be?

I think Julia Child had such an enviable life. She brought her passion for cooking to the world and was recognized for it. She also managed to maintain a warm, loving relationship with her husband despite her fame.

8. What book is your bible?

My cookbook: Pamela Morgan’s Flavors.  I still cook from it all the time, even though it’s been in print for 16 years. The recipes are classic and timeless.

I still read Dale Carnegie’s How to Win Friends and Influence People. It’s somewhat old fashioned, but the advice is still relevant today in so many ways.

9. What is your favorite word?

Flirt. That’s why I named my company Flirting with Flavors. Flirting is when you put your attention from yourself onto someone else. We should all flirt every day! It uplifts the planet!

10. Who is your biggest hero?

My dad was really my biggest hero. He was a self-made man, handsome, smart, funny, and incredibly generous.

11. How would you define success?

Success is being comfortable in your own skin. It’s not looking to anyone else for approval. Success is being grateful every day.

12. What would the last question of this questionnaire be if you were the one asking?

What would your last meal be?

Oysters from the coast of Brittany. Foie gras, roast chicken, and pommes frites from L’ami Louis in Paris. Chocolate for dessert! It’s the most simple things prepared perfectly that make me ecstatic.

Pamela Morgan makes people fall in love with food. Literally. As owner of the innovative Flirting with Flavors, Pamela teaches men and women how to use food to generate romance.
