Who Am I ?
1. Who am I?
I”m Al-x. Pop/electro singer and songwriter who dances and plays guitar–usually not at the same time.
2. What do you do and what project are you currently working on?
I like to provide the soundtrack for both the fun and more introspective moments in life. I”ve released 3 EPs and have written over 300 songs. The shows I put on are a hybrid of acoustic and electro elements–i.e. a girl with a guitar, then ditching the guitar for back-up dancers. On Friday, July 11th, my first music video, “On the Dark Side,” was released.
3. Where are you from and where are you going?
Originally I”m from a small town in the Midwest. To infinity & beyond!
4. Who is your biggest hero?
Right now I”m drawing a lot of inspiration from Trent Reznor. I love how he has stayed ultra-creative and pushed the envelope, trying many new things, and never compromising his artistic integrity. He”s a genius at what he does and I think someone who has come through the darkness to the other side is always admirable.
5. What book is your bible?
At the moment I”d say The Alchemist by Paul Coelho. The theme of finding and following your destiny resonates with me, and helps push me on.
6. What are some things you love? And some things you hate?
Loves: all forms of art, dance, animals, laughter with friends, scary rides, eyeliner.
7. What is your raison dӐtre?
Cultivating creativity and connecting with people through what I create. Living a life that”s true to myself.
8. What is your favorite color?
While it”s technically not a color, I have to say black.
9. Who is your favorite comic book superhero?
10. What is your favorite NYC hot spot?
I don”t know if it”s considered a “hot spot,” but Central Park–and performing in Central Park.
11. What turns you on?
Creativity. Generosity. Passion.
12. What would the last question of this questionnaire be if you were the one asking?
Can people really change?
Absolutely! I hate when people say it”s not possible. You can rewire, overcome fears, and become the best version of yourself.
