Who Am I ?
1. Who am I?
2. What do you do and what project are you currently working on?
I am a humor writer and performer. Currently, I do freelance work, so that can mean editing a book on finance one minute and blogging about how I got diarrhea from teatoxing the next. I’m super excited about one project in particular, though: I’m writing lyrics for an upcoming musical webseries. It’s going to be, as the kids say, the bomb.
3. Where are you from and where are you going?
I’m from Washington D.C., and I’ll probably be going to my favorite burrito place in Manhattan Beach–I always end up there.
4. Who is your biggest hero?
If my parents and grandma and both my brothers and my sister–all whom are my favorite examples of what it means to be caring, intelligent, fabulous human beings –could come together as a giant Transformer robot, then that robot would be my biggest hero. Literally.
5. What book is your bible?
Angus, Thongs, and Full-Frontal Snogging. That book is a masterpiece. I read it for the first time in seventh grade, and I read it once a year to make sure my humor still lines up with it.
6. What are some things you love? And some things you hate?
Can I mention burritos twice in one interview? Because I love burritos. And avocados. I love feeling tired after swimming in the ocean and I love reading in bed and bothering my cat. I hate air conditioning. And anything that reminds me of air conditioning.
7. What is your raison dӐtre?
To make others feel understood. Once, in high school, a random boy told me he cut out a school newspaper article I’d written about break ups and taped it to his wall because he related to it so much. That was the best.
8. What is your favorite color?
Black–I like black outlines, black eyeliner. I like black clothes, but mine are always covered in cat fur.
9. Who is your favorite comic book superhero?
10. What is your favorite NYC hot spot?
Wherever I can hear some live singing! Which, in NYC, can be found anywhere from a fancy theater or karaoke sushi bar or down a shady alley, next to a dumpster.
11. What turns you on?
People who thrive under pressure and Idina Menzel’s belt.
12. What would the last question of this questionnaire be if you were the one asking?
Where can I get a refill on this coffee?
